Ballon rides in Salt Lake City

Searching for Ballon rides in Salt Lake City? You've come to the spot! Finding a company to provide Ballon rides is easy. In addition, you can check our ride guide, or look in your yellow pages.

Enjoying Ballon rides is something everyone can $do, but it is also a very popular way to celebrate a birthday! When you speak with the company you are considering flying with, don't forget to ask how many others will be flying with you.

When it is time for your trip, your company will offer to let you help with the assembly and inflation of the balloon. Go ahead and do it - it adds to the entire experience!

Be sure to bring a camera and plenty of film!

You'll be surprised at how many pictures you take before, during and after your flight. Bring more film or memory than you think you'll use. Once you're in the air and snapping away you sure don't want to be surprised by running out!

You can bring cameras for still or video, and we suggest you carry them in a protective case. Your pilot may ask you to put your cameras away during landing to make sure there are no objects that could fly out of your hand and hurt someone. Once you're on the ground you can start shooting again.

Famous Balloon Quote:

Suddenly the wind ceased. The air seemed motionless around us. We were off, going at the speed of the air-current in which we now lived and moved. Indeed, for us there was no more wind; and this is the first great fact of spherical ballooning. Infinitely gentle is this unfelt motion forward and upward. The illusion is complete: it seems not to be the balloon that moves, but the earth that sinks down and away...
Villages and woods, meadows and chateaux, pass across the moving scene, out of which the whistling of locomotives throws sharp notes. These faint, piercing sounds, together with the yelping and barking of dogs, are the only noises that reach one through the depths of the upper air. The human voice cannot mount up into these boundless solitudes. Human beings look like ants along the white lines that are highways; and the rows of houses look like children's playthings."
Alberto Santos-Dumont, 'My Air-Ships,' New York, The Century Company, 1904.
How do you get back to where you started?
A chase crew follows along in a van or truck. The chase crew is in radio contact with the pilot, so they can be there when the balloon lands (or soon afterwards).

A balloon team is often a family affair. Crew people come in all shapes and sizes: singles, married, and entire families can be found. Pick any combination of these types of folks, and they are here too. There are crew people ranging from new born babies, to folks well into their 80's still enjoying the sport. The only special skill needed for the balloon ground crew is a willingness to learn and ask questions. Some tasks require a fair amount of physical strength, but don't worry, there are even more tasks that do not.
