Hot air balloon trips in Chattanooga

Searching for Hot air balloon trips in Chattanooga? This is to the page you want! Finding a company to provide Hot air balloon trips is easy. In addition, you can stop by our Balloon Ride Directory, or look in your yellow pages.

Enjoying Hot air balloon trips is something the entire family can participate in, but it is also a very popular way to celebrate an anniversary! When you speak with the company you are thinking about flying with, be sure to ask how many other passengers will be aboard the balloon.

When it is time for your trip, your pilot will offer to let you help with the assembly and inflation of the balloon. Go ahead and do it - it adds to the fun!

Be sure to bring a camera and plenty of film!

You'll be surprised at how many pictures you take before, during and after your flight. Bring more film or memory than you think you'll use. Once you're in the air and snapping away you sure don't want to be surprised by running out!

You can bring cameras for still or video, and we suggest you carry them in a protective case. Your pilot may ask you to put your cameras away during landing to make sure there are no objects that could fly out of your hand and hurt someone. Once you're on the ground you can start shooting again.

Famous Balloon Quote:

The best way of travel, however, if you aren't in any hurry at all, if you don't care where you are going, if you don't like to use your legs, if you don't want to be annoyed at all by any choice of directions, is in a balloon. In a balloon, you can decide only when to start, and usually when to stop. The rest is left entirely to nature.
William Pene du Bois, 'The Twenty-one Balloons.'
A long time ago someone wrote a balloonists prayer, and we've used it in the post flight ceremonies ever since:

The winds have welcomed you with softness
The sun has held you in his warm hands
You have flown so high and so well
That God has joined you in your laughter
And set you gently back down
Into the loving arms of Mother Earth.

Why is the angle of the sun important?
The sun is the source of wind, because it heats the earth unevenly. Sunlight falls directly on the equator, for example. The North Pole receives weaker, slanted rays of sunlight. Clouds may keep one area cool while another heats up. Water and land heat up at different rates. Hot air is lighter than cool air, so it rises. As hot air rises, cool air slides in to replace it. The result: wind. It isn't safe to fly during the daytime when different pockets of air are rising and falling.
