Are balloon rides available during colder/warmer weather? |
|||
Temperature does play a role in the ability for a balloon to fly. Summertime high temperatures greatly reduce the amount of weight a balloon can lift, and extremely warm temperatures can be uncomfortable for passengers. Colder temperatures are not a problem as far as the balloon itself is concerned - the colder the better! However, human comfort becomes an issue when flying in extreme cold. Passengers and crew must be dressed appropriately since they will be spending several hours outdoors. Each balloon ride company will have their own policies regarding flights in extreme high or low temperatures. There are other factors the pilot must consider when flying during these times, so the local companies who fly in the area are the only ones who can provide specifics for their flights. Check our balloon ride directory for companies near you. |
