How do I become a balloon pilot?

In the USA, you must be trained by a commercial balloon pilot (all commercial balloon pilots also hold instructor privledges), pass a written exam, and pass a checkride.

The FAA has pushlished a great Student Pilot Guide that explains all the details. It is recommended for anyone who is interested in learning how to go about getting their pilot license.
